WEEKEND TRAFFIC CRASH ON THE NATCHEZ TRACE LEAVES SEVERAL INJURED
(AUG 26, 2014)  SEVERAL INJURIES RESULTED FROM A SUNDAY TRAFFIC ACCIDENT ON NATCHEZ TRACE PARKWAY.  ACCORDING TO A PRESS RELEASE FROM THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE, AROUND 6:05 P-M, EMERGENCY RESPONDERS WERE DISPATCHED TO A TWO VEHICLE ACCIDENT ON THE TRACE NEAR GLENROCK BRANCH AT MILE POST 364 POINT 5.  69 YEAR-OLD THOMAS MCALISTER OF PULASKI WAS DRIVING NORTH WHEN HIS VEHICLE WAS STRUCK ON THE SIDE BY A CHEVY S-10 TRUCK CROSSING THE PARKWAY.  MCALISTER WAS INJURED ALONG WITH FOUR PASSENGERS FROM THE OTHER VEHICLE. MCALISTER AND ONE OF THE TRUCK'S OCCUPANTS WERE FLOWN TO VANDERBILT MEDICAL CENTER FOR TREATMENT.  THE OTHER THREE WERE TRANSPORTED TO WAYNE COUNTY HOSPITAL.  THE ACCIDENT IS STILL UNDER INVESTIGATION.
