CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG URGES RESIDENTS TO MAINTAIN PROPERTY
(JULY 30, 2014)  THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG REMINDS RESIDENTS THAT PROPERTY MAINTENANCE IS A PART OF MAINTAINING COMMUNITY INTEGRITY.  OFFICIALS INDICATE THAT THEY ARE SEEING AN INCREASE IN THE NUMBER OF NEGLECTED, FORECLOSED AND ABANDONED PROPERTIES THRU-OUT THE CITY.  PROPERTY OWNERS ARE REMINDED THAT THERE ARE RULES AND REGULATIONS REGARDING TALL GRASS AND WEEDS; ACCUMULATION OF GARBAGE; GRASS CLIPPINGS BLOWN INTO STREETS; ROTTED WOOD; LITTERED PREMISES; DAMAGED SIDING; FENCES, SHEDS AND DECKS IN A STATE OF DISREPAIR AND UNREGISTERED OR NON-RUNNING VEHICLES.  CITY CODES OFFICERS LOOK AT A NUMBER OF THINGS THAT MAY BE IN VIOLATION OF CITY CODES.  IN THE EVENT OF A VIOLATION, A NOTICE IS SENT TO THE REGISTERED OWNER WITH A COMPLIANCE DATE FOR CORRECTION.  REASONABLE REQUESTS FOR EXTENSIONS ARE CONSIDERED.  IF NEEDED, MUNICIPAL INFRACTION CITATIONS ARE ISSUED FOR NON-COMPLIANCE.  THE CITY IS ASKING ALL LAWRENCEBURG RESIDENTS TO MAINTAIN THEIR OWN PROPERTY AND REPORT ANY CHALLENGES YOU MAY SEE IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD.
