Man charged with wife's murder
Detectives with the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department, along with agents with the TBI, arrested Danny O'neal Owens Friday afternoon on a charge of first degree murder in the 2009 death of his wife, Vicki Marie Owens.
 57-year-old Vicki Owens was found dead inside the couple's Tree Top Trail residence February 8th, 2009, apparently from a gunshot wound to the head. Danny Owens told detectives his wife had committed suicide. Officials, however, say evidence found at the scene, along with several other inconsistencies, provided enough probable cause to present the evidence to a grand jury in July. Authorities believe Danny Owens shot his wife and that he manipulated key evidence to make it appear his wife committed suicide.
 Owens is currently being held without bond and is expected to be arraigned in circuit court in September.
