Giles’ District 7 Issue Continued, Commission Candidates Sworn In
A hearing into the election outcome for District 7 in Giles County has been continued until next Thursday. Candidate William Allen Barrett filed a motion claiming that winning candidate Viciki Coleman did not meet the required number of voter signatures to qualify in the race. Coleman was the third most popular vote getter in the four person race where the top three would be elected. Barrett came in fourth. Judge Robert Jones allowed Coleman, Terry Harwell, and Tommy Campbell to be sworn in under reasoning the seventh district should be represented on the county commission until judgement in the matter can be determined.
